Welcome to the restaurant "Am Zundelsfelsen"

In the idyllic forest and meadow landscape of the Palatinate Forest, just two kilometers from the French border, lies our restaurant in the middle of Schönau.

In addition to excellent food, we also offer a wide range of business opportunities. Explore the castle ruins of "Wegelnburg", the highest castle complex in the Palatinate, with a panoramic view over the Palatinate Forest/North Vosges biosphere reserve. Enjoy the view from the Zundelsfelsen and, on a clear day, catch a glimpse of the Château fort de Fleckenstein in neighboring Alsace.

In the warm summer months, you can dangle your feet in the local Königsweiher pond or take a relaxing walk under the sheltering roofs of the forest. You can also relax and enjoy the warmth on our covered terrace with a scoop of homemade sorbet.

If you prefer something a little more sporty, why not try out one of our numerous cycle routes, for which you will also find special cycle maps. If you have taken your four-legged friend with you on a hiking or cycling tour, you are welcome to bring them with you afterwards, but please let us know when you make your reservation, as not all of our areas are suitable for dogs.

Of course, we have also thought about the little ones and so we have built a new playground for you in 2023, with an adjoining seating area, so you can always keep an eye on your loved ones and enjoy the day!

Would you like to celebrate a special occasion, such as a wedding or a birthday? Our restaurant offers enough space indoors and outdoors for a total of approx. 165 people. We will be happy to assist you in planning the table layout as well as the choice of food and drinks in a personal consultation. Of course, we also cater for communions/confirmations and funerals.
